Lead generation can be very expensive but there are ways to generate leads online without spending tons of money.
The business world is tough. It’s not easy to stay afloat in this cut-throat competition if you’re not at the top of your game 24/7, which means that many small companies find themselves hitting caps because they keep trying (and failing) to get cheap leads instead of maximizing the value of their current leads.
And this is what we learned from Grant Cardone …
Everybody is trying to get the cheapest lead.
They want leads for $1, $2, or $5. But what if you could pay 10 times as much for lead, but make 20 or 30 times as much off of that one lead? Wouldn’t it be worth it to pay more?
Few Things to Consider Before Starting Your Lead Generation Strategy
HIGH Ticket vs. LOW Ticket.
The first thing you have to think about is whether your product is a HIGH ticket or LOW ticket offer. Are you selling a product or service for less than $500 or does your service cost thousands? Are you selling a $6,000 coaching package? Or are you selling marketing services that are $1,500 a month or $10,000 a month, or $50,000 a month? Lead generation for a high ticket is totally different from the lead generation of low-ticket products or services.
B2B vs. B2C
Next is identifying your business model. Are you selling your product or service to consumers or businesses? Are you a B2B or a B2C? This is an important question to ask yourself when doing lead generation for your business.
If you’re a B2B, LinkedIn is the best platform for you to generate leads.
MARKET RESEARCH: IDENTIFY WHAT ONLINE PLATFORM YOU’RE TARGET AUDIENCE IS USING
Figure out where your people are hanging out. You have to start thinking, what platforms does my ideal client use daily? Are they looking for other businesses that do business marketing services or coaching services? Then they are most probably on LinkedIn.
Does your audience have a specific title like career coach? Then they’re most probably on Instagram and Facebook.
Do market research and identify where your target market is so you can maximize your marketing efforts on those platforms.
Short Term ROI vs. Long Term ROI
Are you looking for long-term or short-term ROI? What does this mean?
There are businesses that sell a single product or service only, like those who are in the coaching space. They need that first lead that comes in to buy or not buy. If you are looking for short-term ROI, you can give something free like an ebook or a webinar where you can get your prospects’ email. If they don’t buy after taking advantage of the free value you offer, you have their email and you can add them to your sales and marketing funnels where you can possibly convert them down the line.
While for long-term ROI, you can sell a product or service and once your prospect purchases your product, you can sell the second product, then if they buy the second product, you can sell the third product (also known as upsells). This means longer email funnels and multiple products.
The more you can maximize the value of a lead, the more you’re able to spend on a lead.
CREATE A FREE LEAD MAGNET
The lead magnet is a simple way to get potential customers interested in what you have to offer, for free. If you offer free value, like an ebook or webinar, or any downloadable resources, people are more likely to sign up for your email list and eventually become paying customers. You need some kind of value that you’re going to give your prospect before you try to sell them something.
This is why a lead magnet is a crucial component of your marketing strategy.
So there you have it. These are just the first things you need to figure out before you start to generate leads online.
